Follett Access Program

Take advantage of the convenience and savings of Follett Access

What is the Follett Access Program?

Follett Access is a partnership between the University of West Florida and Follett that allows you to purchase digital textbooks at a reduced cost. The charge is posted directly to your course charges and can be paid along with your other University charges or using financial aid. For any questions about Follett Access, please contact us at follettaccess@uwf.edu.

How do I know if I'm eligible for Follett Access?

You'll receive an email from Follett and/or your professor describing the program and benefits, followed by an email from the UWF Bookstore with login information if you are enrolled in a course that is Follett Access eligible.

If you are a student athlete whose books are covered by the Athletics department, or if you are a sponsored student whose government or other entity pays for your expenses, you may not be eligible to participate. Check with your sponsor or Athletics coordinator before you sign up.

How do I sign up for Follett Access?

No action is needed once enrolled in a Follett Access course.

Step 1: The Follett Access Email

When you receive the Follett Access email, it is advised that you activate your account.

No worries if the link expires, you may reset your account via the Follett Access Portal.

Congratulations on your enrollment in University of West Florida Bookstore Customer Portal. To preserve student choice and promote student savings, University of West Florida Bookstore has partnered with your campus bookstore to provide this program so you will have access to all required course materials on day one of class at prices not available elsewhere. If you decide you do not want to purchase the course materials provided to you as part of the program, you can use the University of West Florida Bookstore Customer Portal to opt-out of the program.

IMPORTANT! Please note that if you opt-out, you will then be responsible for obtaining the required course materials on your own. Once you have opted-out, you will only be able to opt-in until 02/01/2021 and receive the special pricing that is part of the program.

If you would like to proceed with opting-out, please activate your account below by 02/01/2021 and follow the instructions.

(Optional) Step 2: Log in to Follett Access

Enter your UWF email address (included on the UWF Bookstore email) to access the Follett Access site.

(Optional) Step 3: UWF Bookstore authentication

After entering your email address you'll be sent an email from the UWF Bookstore with an additional link that will authenticate you into the Follett Access site. This helps to ensure that someone else isn't accessing the site using your UWF email!

Step 4: Selecting your material

In the Follett Access system you'll be presented with any course that you are enrolled in which participates in the Follett Access program. You can easily see the cost of the material for the course, view the material itself, and opt-out of the purchase right from the Follett Access dashboard.

Step 5: Verifying your opt-out status

Once you've enrolled into a Follett Access course, you will be able to view the materials and opt-out in the Follett Access portal. If you choose to opt-out, you have until the end of the add/drop period to opt back in.

What will the charge look like on my bill?

Once you've enrolled into a Follett Access course, the UWF Bookstore will send your information to Student Accounts.

A charge will appear on your CashNet bill for the total price of all materials and courses for which you've opted-in. The charge will appear under the description; Follett Access "Course prefix and number" like in the example screenshot below. You can pay for your book through the MyUWF portal or allow it to be covered by your financial aid when it disburses.

How do I access my course materials?

For courses that are part of the Follett ACCESS program, you will have codeless access within your UWF Canvas account.

What happens if I drop a course?

If you drop your course before the end of the University drop/add period, your charge will be removed and your access to the course materials will be revoked. If you drop or withdrawal after the initial drop/add period, you'll need to contact the UWF Bookstore to discuss options.
