See How I’m Making My Mark
“UWF puts a real priority on teaching and students. The very act of learning is joyous, but I also think interacting with other people and building teams should be fun. I tend to bring a lot of things into my workshops and classes that involve silly little props with really big time life lessons—like balloons. You can do a lot with balloons.”

He’s 14 years into his career at IHMC, but Carff is still actively drawing from the foundation he established as a graduate student at UWF. For the last four years, he has transformed a user interface he first developed for his master’s thesis into a powerful robot operator interface utilized by both IHMC and NASA. He’s proof that success isn’t reserved for the future—it starts today.
