Biography
Bruce grew up in Pensacola, Florida, and from his earliest memories, has been attracted to the world of water, which has become a lifelong passion. He graduated from UWF with a degree in Humanities. Bruce worked as a Lifeguard during his entire college career. He went on to work as a swim coach for the Greater Pensacola Aquatic Club and worked on the beach as a Lifeguard for the National Park Service. Bruce was on the Organizing Committee for the Pensacola Bay Swim, supervising the lifeguard staff. He also participated in the swim several times.
In some other related areas, Bruce worked as a Unit Coordinator in a NeuroRehabilitation Center, supervising direct care staff. He worked as a Recreation Instructor for a Developmental Disability Center and was a nominee for the JFK Jr. Award for Direct Support Professionals. He has been a PsyTech at a residential behavioral health facility. He has worked doing water testing and maintenance for the Florida Fish and Game Commission and worked as a Biotech for an Agricultural Research Facility.
In his free time, Bruce surfs, windsurfs, kayaks, swims, and paddleboards, and he is a certified diver. Wherever there is water, that is where he likes to be.
