Protect your bike from theft, secure it with a U-lock.

There have been a number of bike thefts on campus. As a result, we strongly recommend the use of a high-quality U-lock when securing your bike, and are making these locks available for you to purchase on campus.

U-locks are available for purchase (with valid credit card or debit card) at the Bike Shop and the Rec Center in the Health, Leisure and Sports Facility (HLS) for $22

About the lock:
  • Hardened 12 mm round shackle
  • The Shackle body and the structural parts of the locking mechanism are made specifically of hardened steel
  • The special, modern design of the lock body casing allows for optimum handling
  • High-quality locking cylinder for a high level of protection against tampering, e.g. picking

Yellow Bike

Yellow Bike is our bike-building program for participants who want a simple commuting bike around campus. The program provides a well-loved bike in need of a little TLC, where we will either work with you to restore it or restore them ourselves. Once the work is complete, the bike is yours to keep!

Participants have two options when choosing their yellow bike; the first option runs $25 and includes a donated bike and the sun yellow spray paint needed to turn your well-loved bike into a clean, mean riding machine. This option has participants getting assistance from one of our Bike Shop Attendants to refurbish a bike from start to finish.

While supplies last, students can also choose from a selection of prebuilt Yellow Bikes and make an as-is purchase for $60 (Non-student participants $85). Prebuild Yellow Bikes are refurbished by our Bike Shop Attendants, prepped, painted, tuned up, and include a replacement bike chain before purchase.

Bikes are typically available three weeks after the start of each semester. Bikes are limited to one bike per participant.

Campus Trails

Our campus offers 20+ miles of biking and hiking trails. More information about specific trails, including an interactive map, can be found on our UWF Trail Maps webpage.
