Biography
Dr. Anderson currently serves as the Associate Vice President & Dean of Students, providing strategic leadership for the Division of Academic Engagement and Student Affairs and the University. In her role, she oversees Counseling and Psychological Services; the Dean of Students Office, which includes the Office for Student Rights and Responsibilities, Care Services; Housing and Residence Life; Student Engagement, Student Government Association; the University Commons and Event Services; and chairs the Campus Care Team. Previously, Dr. Anderson served as Director of Case Management Services at the University of California San Diego, providing strategic direction and oversight in the areas of student safety, wellbeing and crisis management for undergraduate, graduate and professional students. She served as co-chair of the Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management Team which is responsible for assessing threatening and disruptive behavior of students, faculty, staff and non-affiliates of concern.
Prior to her role at the University of California San Diego, Dr. Anderson held the role of Associate Dean of Students and Director of the Dean of Students Office at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She has also served as a conduct officer, resident director and instructor at various universities. She has delivered several presentations on mental health and case management at conferences nationwide. She holds more than 20 years of experience working in higher education.
Dr. Anderson is a graduate of UWF where she earned her bachelor’s degree in communication arts. She also holds a master’s degree in college student affairs from the University of South Florida and a doctoral degree in higher education administration from UNC Greensboro.
