Administrative Overhead Charges

Administrative Overhead is charged on funds such as Auxiliaries, Athletics, Student Activities, Parking, and Transportation

These funds are used to support administrative positions that support these operations, to fund university wide initiatives (such as Banner software), to provide funding for campus capital projects (such as non-revenue generating space), and other University strategic initiatives.

Administrative Overhead Comparisons

Beginning with the fiscal year 2013-2014 (2014), UWF changed the admin overhead charges to be against revenues. UWF also changed the rate from 3.71% to 4.71%.

Beginning with the fiscal year 2014-2015 (2015), UWF changed the admin overhead rate from 4.71% to 5.71%. This year UWF also added Student Banner and we went from Cash Basis to Accrual A/R and early recognition of revenues. UWF also implemented recording Waivers as Expenses, so for Admin Overhead purposes it is treated as a contra (negative) revenue. UWF also decided to change the admin overhead cycles to July thru Oct and Nov thru June reporting periods to more appropriately match the semesters.

Beginning with the fiscal year 2015-2016 (2016), UWF changed the admin overhead rate from 5.71% to 6.71%.
