Degree Requirements

All degree requirements must be completed by the last day of the semester for which the graduation application is submitted. Students whose Graduation Application is denied for any reason or do not meet the requirements for graduation must submit a new application for the semester in which the requirements are met.

Timeline

The Office of the Registrar will begin reviewing graduation eligibility once final grades have been posted. Degree conferral is typically completed within approximately one month after final grades are available. Once your degree has been officially posted, it will appear on both your unofficial and official transcripts. Please review the step-by-step instructions for viewing your awarded degree(s).

Please see the Baccalaureate Honors portion of the Undergraduate Academic Catalog for specific information used to determine baccalaureate honors. Please note that the honors indicated on the commencement program are tentative since current semester courses are not included.

Diplomas

Students earning a bachelor's degree or higher will receive an electronic diploma at no cost. Electronic diplomas are typically issued 2 to 4 weeks after degree awarding. All financial holds must be cleared before any diploma, electronic or printed, can be released.

Once you have received your courtesy electronic diploma, you may request a printed diploma by submitting a Diploma Request through MyUWF.

For recent graduates, printed diploma requests will be processed 6 to 8 weeks after the degree is awarded. Allow an additional 2 weeks for printing and shipping once processing begins.

Alumni requesting a printed diploma should allow 6 to 8 weeks from the date of the request for processing and an additional 2 weeks for printing and shipping.

FAQ

Students may view their unofficial transcript using the "Student Academic Records Menu" app in MyUWF. Students with holds preventing the release of Official Transcripts will not have access to Unofficial Transcripts.

The Office of the Registrar will begin awarding degrees approximately one month after grades are due. You may review your “Unofficial Transcript” in MyUWF to see if your degree has been posted. Once you have confirmed that your degree has been posted, you may order official transcripts at any time, which will reflect this information.

In Parchment, the address you enter for your Diploma Request will be used as your diploma mailing address. When placing your order, verify that the "Ship To" address shown in your order details is correct. Please see these instructions for Submitting a Diploma Request.

Diploma name changes may be requested in writing by emailing graduation@uwf.edu. The diploma name must match the legal first, middle, and last name on file with the University. To change a legal first, middle, and/or last name on the diploma and the University record, you must submit a Student Data Change Form with supporting legal documentation.

All students earning a bachelor's degree or higher will receive an electronic diploma at no cost 2-4 weeks after the degree has been awarded. Please check the email address associated with your student account, including the spam folder. All financial holds, including Exit Counseling, must be cleared before the diploma will be released. Email graduation@uwf.edu if all financial holds are cleared and you have not received your diploma.

If you have placed a Diploma Request through Parchment and have not received your mailed diploma within the timeframe listed on the Parchment website, please contact Parchment at membersupport@parchment.com for assistance with the status and, if necessary, a reissue of your diploma.
