Annual Guidelines for Tenure, Promotion, and Evaluations

*Faculty will have the option of excluding Spring and Summer 2020 semester course evaluations (SAIs) in their Annual Evaluation materials. When submitting materials for review, faculty should include a statement indicating if they have chosen to exclude these course evaluations. The Annual Evaluation calendar (page 24) has also been adjusted.


Tenure Clock Extension Request

As a result of the disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, all tenure-earning faculty are offered the option to extend their tenure clock by one year. To exercise this one-time option, faculty should complete the COVID-19 Tenure Clock Extension Request Form linked below and submit to your department chair for processing.

  • Faculty scheduled to submit dossiers in Fall 2020 must submit this form by Friday, September 4, 2020.
  • All others must submit this form by Tuesday, May 11, 2021.

Faculty who wish to later rescind this extension may do so. Notification should be sent to their Chair and Dean with a copy to the Provost’s Office prior to the due date to submit the tenure dossier.
