The Office of the Provost annually hosts the Faculty Awards Celebration. This event honors the achievements of our faculty from the previous academic year.

2026 Faculty Award Nominations Now Open

The Office of the Provost is accepting nominations for faculty awards June 10 through September 2. All faculty are welcome to nominate their colleagues or themselves for an award.

Award winners will be announced at the 2026 Faculty Awards Celebration on November 19, 2026.

Award Description and Rubric	Eligibility Criteria*
Adjunct Faculty Excellence Award	Adjunct faculty who have taught at least one course in the previous academic year (2025-26).
Carnegie Community Engaged Faculty Award	Any faculty member.
Distinguished Creative Activities in the Arts Award Early Career <7 years Senior Career 7+ years	Any full-time faculty member with at least three years of employment at UWF, excluding Distinguished University Professor Award recipients.
Distinguished Faculty Service Award	Any faculty member.
Distinguished Scholarship Award	Any faculty member.
Distinguished Sponsored Research Award Early Career <7 years Senior Career 7+ years	Full-time faculty, excluding Distinguished University Professor Award recipients.
Distinguished University Professor Award	Full professors who have completed at least 6 years in rank of Professor at UWF at the time of application, and have completed at least one successful Post-Tenure Review or Sustained Performance Evaluation at UWF since receiving tenure.
Distinguished University Research Projects Award	Tenure-track faculty, excluding Distinguished University Professor Award recipients.
Faculty Excellence in Teaching Award	Full-time faculty who have been employed in that capacity at the University on or before August 8, 2022.
Faculty Excellence in Undergraduate Research Mentoring Award Early Career <7 years Senior Career 7+ years	Any faculty member.
President's Award for Exemplary Online Teaching	Any employee who has taught at least one fully online course at UWF within the last three academic semesters.
* Previous awardees of any faculty award are not eligible to win the same award for three years.
