MyCAA Scholarship

UWF is approved to participate in the MyCAA program.


The MyCAA Scholarship is a workforce development program, funded entirely by the US Department of Defense (DOD), which provides up to $4,000 of tuition assistance to eligible military spouses. The scholarship helps military spouses pursue licenses, certificates, certifications or an associate’s degree. This program is designed to provide you access to training that will help you gain employment in high demand, high growth, portable career fields and occupations.

Who’s Eligible?

Spouses of service members on active duty in pay grades E-1 to E-5, W-1 to W-2 and O-1 to O-2 can start and complete their coursework while their military sponsor is on Title 10 military orders, including spouses married to members of the National Guard and reserve component in these same pay grades.

Upon completion of a MyCAA funded course or program, the MVRC will post grades to the MyCAA portal. Get more information about UWF MyCAA Processing Policies.

Eligible Courses

There are many eligible courses from which you can choose to enhance your skills. Career specialties such as IT, Business, Healthcare, are some of the more popular areas of study. In addition, our online format allows you to learn at your own pace, around your schedule for a career that transfers as you move. UWF Continuing Education offers many eligible courses that will help you gain the credentials to work remotely or from most cities.

What is the MyCAA Scholarship?
The My Career Advancement Account, or MyCAA Scholarship program, is a part of the Department of Defense Spouse Education and Career Opportunities (SECO) program, designed to help military spouses with career development and employment assistance. If you have a high school diploma or equivalent, the MyCAA Scholarship provides eligible spouses up to $4,000 to pursue licenses, certificates, and certifications necessary to secure employment in high-demand, portable career fields. What other benefits does MyCAA offer? 
As a military spouse, you have access to a certified Spouse Education and Career Opportunities (SECO) coach to assist with career readiness, including résumé development, job search techniques, interviewing skills, and relocation planning, as well as career connections to help you land a job.

How can I confirm my eligibility for MyCAA?
The first step is to log on with your DS Logon and complete your DEERS eligibility check. If you do not have a DS Logon, you can refer to this guide for instructions on how to register for a DS Logon account and create your MyCAA account 

What is an Education and Training Plan?
