Dr. Michael C. Reynolds, Chair and Associate Professor of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, played a major part in establishing the mechanical engineering program.

Dr. Maher Amer’s research is involved in the design, fabrication and testing of medical devices such as microneedle arrays and microparticles for drug delivery.

Dr. Gautam is an Assistant Professor in the Mechanical Engineering department. She researches high-temperature materials including metallic alloys and composites. She teaches Engineering Materials, Advanced Solid Mechanics, Composite Materials, and Fracture Mechanics.

Dr. Brad Regez has worked on research projects for NASA, FAA, ONR, and the NSF, as well as industry (Renault F1 race team, John Deere & Company, Boeing, GKN, GE, Honeywell, and Imperium Inc.).

Dr. Stutz teaches Engineering Mechanics and mentors the enterprise design teams. His primary field of research is external ballistics where he has a varied background of DOD-related experience.
