Internships

The Department of Mechanical Engineering encourages students to pursue internship opportunities to gain hands-on experience and the opportunity to apply concepts learned in the classroom. An internship is an important experience for career readiness, enhances a student's resume, and can elevate a student's application for graduate education and professional schools.

Construction Management

The UWF Construction Management program focuses on job readiness and prepares students to fill roles in all types of construction.

Internships provide students with an opportunity to apply the skills they have learned in the classroom. Internships are also an opportunity for regional construction firms to assess the performance of potential employees. Many employers and students use the internship program as a path to full-time employment. Previous internships have been offered by the following firms:

  • Biggs Construction
  • Bayside Structures
  • Chaver’s Construction
  • Childers Construction
  • Green-Simmons Company, Inc.
  • Hanto and Clark General Contractors, LLC
  • Hensel Phelps
  • Morrette Company
  • Parso Construction Management and Development
  • Whitesell-Green, Inc.
  • Williams Brown, Inc.

Please note that listed internship opportunities are meant to serve as examples of possible positions. Availability varies based on a number of factors, and there is no guarantee of securing a specific position.
