Spring Defer FAQ

Spring deferment allows select summer and fall students to enroll as freshmen at UWF for the following spring term.


Frequently Asked Questions

UWF experienced a strong applicant pool for Summer and Fall 2024 admission and is offering select students the opportunity to enroll for the Spring 2025 term. These frequently asked questions provide information about the deferment process. Please contact admissions@uwf.edu if you have any additional questions.

Yes! If you completed the 2024-2025 FAFSA and qualified for aid, we will use your FAFSA to provide an updated offer of financial aid for Spring 2025. If you haven’t already completed a 2024-2025 FAFSA, we encourage you to do so as soon as possible. An offer of financial aid is not guaranteed.

Yes! If you start courses at another college or university for the fall term following your high school graduation, you will still be admissible to UWF for Spring 2025. You must maintain at least a 2.00 GPA at that institution.

If you attend another Florida public college or university, your general education courses are guaranteed to transfer to UWF. If courses are taken at an accredited Florida private or out-of-state college or university, they will likely transfer.
