Welcome back and Happy New Year, Argo!
It's time to look ahead and lay the groundwork for what you want your upcoming year at UWF to look like. Here are some opportunities to check out in January:
- On-campus housing: Housing contracts for the Fall/Spring semester open on February 3, 2025
- Study Abroad this summer: Browse study abroad types and locations and start planning your experience!
- Apply for an on-campus job: Housing and Residence Life will start hiring for Residence Assistants, Hall Directors, and Desk Assistants in January. You can find these job postings and other on-campus jobs on Handshake.
This month, we have something special for you: the myth that our beloved mascot, Argie, is based on, as illustrated by UWF alumnus Dylan Nadsady. Little bits of this myth are woven into UWF’s culture. For example, our Homecoming concert is called ‘Colchis’, and if you look closely around campus, you’ll find references to boats (Homecoming boat race anyone?), voyaging (the voyager student-run newspaper), teamwork, and of course, the Golden Fleece.
