Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging
Purpose
UWF Parking and Transportation Services offers charging spaces to individuals who drive Alternate Powered Vehicles to campus.
By definition, an Electric Powered Vehicle is defined as a vehicle that is solely powered by an electric motor. Please note that hybrid gasoline-electric vehicles do not qualify as Electric Powered Vehicles under this definition.
General
All EV charging stations on campus are available to the public. Vehicles do not need a parking permit to access, but must have an active session at the station in order to use the parking reserved for each station. Charging sessions require payment, and vehicles must relocate if/when their payment session ends.

- Cost per kWh is $0.35.
General Usage Rules
- Charging your EV at UWF is on a first-come-first served basis.
- The spaces are designed for EV charging only, not simply EV parking.
- Park in the space that the charger cords correspond to. Do not cross over parking spaces.
- It is acceptable to back-in park electric vehicles while in charge mode in order to access the plug.
- Vehicles parked at any of the EV stations should be actively plugged into the station and charging their vehicle.
- Users of EV chargers shall follow all instructions to ensure the safe and proper use of chargers, including proper storage of the charging cord and plug after use.
- EV charging can only be charged through the use of designated stations for a fee. Use of other outlets are prohibited.
- EV charging station spaces may be closed for maintenance, construction, and special event parking without notice.
- The University assumes no responsibility or liability for damage to vehicles using the EV charging stations.
Charger Assistance
- If a non-plugin vehicle is parked in an EV-only space, contact UWF Parking & Transportation Services at 850.857.6023 or email parking@uwf.edu.
Etiquette for Shared/Limited Equipment
- Don't charge if you don't need to. Leave the spot free for another EV driver that might really need the charge.
- Only occupy an EV charging spot while your car is being charged. When the charging session is completed, unplug and move your car to free up the spot for another EV driver.
- Do not unplug an EV that is charging in order to charge your vehicle.
- Please be safe when charging an EV. Properly manage the charging cord to prevent mishaps.
- Wind the charging cord neatly and place it back on the charger or where no one can trip on it.
- EV drivers should not leave notes on non-EV vehicles parked in EV spaces.
