Web Developer
Description:
The UWF Center for Cybersecurity seeks a part-time (~20 hours/week) website developer/programmer to support the CyberSkills2Work program website. The successful candidate needs experience in writing, reading, and editing code. Tasks include creating new website elements, developing/refining/updating existing content, and managing the development process, including documentation. This position reports to the program coordinator.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Some experience with the following coding languages/tools: Python, Django, Docker, HTML/CSS/SCCS, and ORMs (Object-Relational Mapping), GitHub.
- Experience with web content development.
- Some experience with software development processes and documentation best practices.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
Preferred Position Qualifications:
- Familiarity with AWS Services, DNS services, and SQL/NoSQL databases is preferred, along with general understanding of JSON Web Token authentication/user sessions.
- Familiarity with consuming REST APIs, Model-View-Controller architecture, and Object-Oriented Programming concepts.
- Ability to assemble software requirements, specifications, and testing documents.
- Excellent time management, organizational, and communications skills are very helpful.
- Studying or graduated with an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Software Development, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related major.
Work Requirements:
Must be available to work at least 20 hours per week. The pay range is $15 - $20 per hour depending on qualifications and experience. Work is remote.
Responsibilities May Include:
- Develop or adapt content for the CyberSkills2Work.org website to expand visibility and attract prospective students, employers, and stakeholders, including text copy, media, etc.
- Code development, updating, and documentation.
- Manage code workflow and website deployment.
- Manage both front end and back-end code of full-stack Django application.
- Deploy both front end and back-end changes according to timelines and ensure safety of deployment.
- Manage DNS related configurations (domain, subdomain, virtual hosts etc.).
- Ensure accuracy and brand consistency and comply with program brand theme on all web content.
- Manage AWS (IAM user roles, EC2 servers, firewall rules, monitor resource utilization and budget, etc.).
- Apply web development experience with SSR frameworks, templating, Docker, and PaaS to provide technical support.
- Other duties as required.
