Biography
With over 23 years of dedicated service in the federal sector, Kristin “Shae” Vernier is a cybersecurity professional known for her extensive contributions to national security. Her journey began at the Navy Information Operations Command Pensacola, where she honed her skills in Information Technology as a Sysadmin and ISSO which set the foundation for her move into Cybersecurity in 2015.
For 7 years, Shae played a pivotal role at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), where she initially served as a US-CERT analyst. Recognized for her exceptional insights and analytical acumen, she quickly rose through the ranks and assumed leadership responsibilities as a Section Chief of Hunt Integration. In this capacity, she meticulously oversaw the operational readiness and efficiency of the Threat Hunting Incident Response teams, ensuring a proactive stance against evolving cyber threats.
Currently, Shae is a Senior Lead Technologist with Booz Allen Hamilton, contributing her expertise to the National Cyber Platform Mission Area 1, focusing on their critical “Defense of the Nation” initiative. In addition to this role, she continues to demonstrate her commitment to CISA’s mission by serving as a BAH Contract lead within their Threat Branch.
Shae is an alumnus of the University of West Florida, where she earned a degree in Computer Science. She has a passion for serving her local community fostering the growth of Cyber professionals at every level.
Shae holds several industry certifications including SEC+, CEH, CISSP, GCIH, and GNFA. However, her proudest accomplishment is being a wife and mother of two.
Outside of the office, Shae enjoys fishing, traveling with her family, real estate investing, and watching her kids play sports.
