Mission, Vision, and Values

The Student Accessibility Resources (SAR) is a program in the Division of Academic Engagement. The SAR serves as the university’s administrative arm of the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendment Act (ADAAA) of 2008 and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.

These legislative acts help ensure that students with disabilities are provided the same access to higher education programs that other students have. Accommodations are intended to provide students with disabilities an equal opportunity to achieve the same results that other students have the opportunity to achieve. The ADAAA and Section 504 guarantee equal access, but do not guarantee success.

Mission

The mission of the Student Accessibility Resources is to advance UWF's mission, vision, and priorities by delivering innovative and high quality service through collaborative networks that ensure educational access and support for students with disabilities.

Vision

To help empower students with disabilities in their pursuit of educational and career opportunities by assisting in the creation of an inclusive and supportive campus environment that facilitates graduation and participation in the global community.
