Meet the Staff LEAD Class of 2021-2022
Amy came to UWF in 2015 as an Office Specialist in the Math/Statistics Department. She went on to work as the Graduate School’s Graduate Curriculum Coordinator, then, in January 2020, Amy moved into her current position in COB. Amy is a lifelong resident of Florida. She was born and raised in Pace, earned her degree from the University of Florida in Gainesville, and started her family in Islamorada. She now lives in Milton with her husband, Dustin, their daughters, Laila (8) and Morada (5), and fur babies. When she’s not helping their girls with Remote Learning (thanks, COVID-19) Amy enjoys spending time with family and learning about equity & diversity.
Kathleen (Kathy) Butler has been part of the UWF family since January 2017. She started her career in Student Health Services and then moved to the Nursing Department last year, to process student applications, mainly for the RN-BSN and Nurse Practitioner programs, but also with traditional BSN students. Kathy has three children, all boys, that keep her busy while she is not at work! She says she was also was lucky enough to marry the Love of her Life earlier this year, before the whole world went on lockdown, where she also gained a daughter (“finally a girl!!”).
Wendi earned a bachelor’s degree in Art History and a master’s degree in Public History from UWF. She also has a Leadership and Public Administration certificate from UWF. She serves as the Events Director for the Pensacola Rowing Club and the Secretary for the Florida Chapter of the Museum Store Association. She has 14 years of experience working in museums. UWF is a family affair, as her two oldest children earned degrees from the university. Her youngest is a sophomore at the University of Florida. Wendi and her husband support one dog, two cats, one turtle, and a hamster.
Zachary is the voice and face of UWF Campus Services including the bookstore, dining, copy service, Nautilus Card IDs, parking and transportation, student printing, and vending. In addition, he serves as a Staff Senator and is the backup person for the Division of Finance and Administration Communications Liaison. He graduated from UWF in 2014 with a Communication Arts (Public Relations) degree. Zachary’s hobbies include competitive powerlifting and reading as many books as he can.
Sharon is responsible for fiscal matters related to the Office of the President. She advises and works with the president and departmental directors on financial aspects of the division and acts as a liaison on budget issues. Prior to joining UWF, Sharon obtained 14 years of experience in the electric utility industry with leadership roles in accounting, compliance, and governance. Sharon is a Florida-licensed Certified Public Accountant and serves as the Audit Committee Chair of a local non-profit organization, CDAC Behavioral Health. She enjoys volunteering in a bible education program and traveling abroad.
Timothy says he is a proud Argo alumnus, having earned a master’s degree in Public History and bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and History from UWF. Tim has worked in higher education for more than 12 years, previously in Admissions and as an academic advisor at UWF and Pasco-Hernando State College. He says he is passionate about preparing students for careers, and prioritizing equity and inclusion to connect students from all backgrounds with the resources and opportunities that will help them achieve professional fulfillment and happiness.
Jillian joined UWF in 2013 as the Graduate Curriculum Coordinator in the Graduate School. In 2017 she moved to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. A 2006 UWF graduate, Jillian says she is proud to be a lifelong Argo. Outside of work she loves spending time with her two sons Sam and Lucas at the beach or running local races. In her free time, Jillian says, she enjoys doing home remodeling projects, cooking, baking, sewing, painting, and just about anything creative she can get her hands on.
Chelsea manages on-site supervisory functions for the 108,000 square- foot Health, Leisure and Sport Facility, the 54,000 square-foot Athletic Field House, and 16-acre University Park. She received a bachelor’s degree in Sport Management from UWF and continued her education by pursuing a Master of Education degree in Recreation Management at Texas State University while working as a graduate assistant. She began her career at the University of South Carolina before coming back to UWF.
Grace earned a bachelor’s degree in Communication Arts and Public Relations at UWF and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Instructional Design and Technology. In her current role, Grace leads new student recruitment team and uses current trends and enrollment data to implement strategic recruitment and communication efforts to yield the next class of Argos and meet enrollment goals.
Jamie engages in recruiting, counseling, retaining, and advising transfer students through UWF's Transfer Pathways Programs. After only a year and a half in this role, she has transformed the transfer student experience for her 2UWF students. She says she focuses on the student as a whole and always puts the student's needs first. Jamie’s goal is for transfer students to feel inspired and empowered to reach their educational goals. Jamie enjoys time at home with her family and friends and can often be found entertaining or cooking. As a Pensacola native, she says she relishes the nuances of life on the Gulf Coast.
