Departments of Veterans Affairs Veterans educational assistance programs are the responsibility of the federal Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA). This department issues regulations, makes eligibility determinations, and writes checks to individual beneficiaries. The toll free number to contact the DVA is (800) 827-1000. This number will connect an individual to the state DVA Regional Office where counselors should be able to provide additional information concerning benefits eligibility, payment status, etc. UWF's Veterans Services Office does not have access to this information. However, these pages contain useful information about DVA Educational Assistance Programs, application procedures, and specific guidelines for UWF students receiving DVA educational benefits.VA Links
