GRADUATION APPLICATIONS
- The "Application for Graduation" should be completed and submitted
to the major department no later than the last day of drop/add of the
semester prior to the semester in which you plan to complete degree requirements.
Links to all applications and application due dates appear at the end
of this section. Note: the Graduation Application should not be
submitted to the Registrar's Office without Advisor/Department Chairperson
approval and signature.
- Students should consult with their academic advisors to make sure all
graduation requirements are met. Graduation requirements are listed
in the Academic Catalog.
- Students fulfilling the requirements for a dual major or a second
degree must submit a separate application for each major.
- Students fulfilling the requirements for a Doctoral Degree must submit
the “Doctoral Application for Graduation” to the Graduate
Studies Office of the College of Professional Studies no later than the
end of the first week of classes of the semester of graduation.
- Students fulfilling the requirements for a minor must submit the “Application
for Completion of a Minor” to the minor department.
Minors do not appear on the diploma, but are recorded on the academic
transcript. Beginning Fall 2011, minors will not be awarded separately from the bachelor's degree. The "Application for Completion of a Minor" will not be accepted until the "Application for Graduation" has been submitted.
- Students fulfilling the requirements for an Associate of Arts degree
must submit the “A.A. Application for Graduation”
to the University Advising Center (Building 18).
- Once your Graduation Application has been received and processed by
the Registrar’s Office, you will receive a confirmation e-mail to
your student e-mail account (undergraduate students may also see the Undergraduate
Graduation Checklist in the Student Records folder in MyUWF).
- Graduation Applications are processed approximately one month after
the application due date.
- You may request to cancel your current semester graduation application
either in writing to the Registrar’s Office or by e-mail to graduation@uwf.edu.
- Degrees are awarded at the end of each Spring, Summer, and Fall
semester, upon completion of all departmental and university requirements.
The Registrar’s Office will begin awarding degrees approximately
one week after grades are due. You may review your “Unofficial
Transcript” in MyUWF
to see if your degree has been posted.
Once you have confirmed that your degree has been posted, you may order
official transcripts at any time which will reflect this information.
- The “Degrees Awarded” and “Rank in Class” links
will be updated approximately eight weeks after graduation.
- Undergraduate Graduation Honors: The GPA used to determine
baccalaureate honors will be based upon all work attempted at UWF and
previously attended institutions. However, the GPA used for honors
will not be higher than the UWF GPA. A minimum of 40 semester hours
of graded (A-WF) work must be completed at UWF. Please consult the Academic Catalog for further
information. Honors indicated on the commencement program are tentative
since current semester courses are not included.
- Students for whom a degree has been awarded (i.e. posted to the academic
transcript) may not have a grade changed for a course which was taken
and completed prior to graduation.
- All degree requirements must be complete by the last day of
the semester for which the graduation application is submitted.
- Students who do not meet the requirements for graduation must
submit a new application for the semester in which the requirements are
met.
