PARTICIPATION IN THE COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY IS NOT A GUARANTEE OF GRADUATION
DEGREES WILL BE AWARDED UPON COMPLETION OF ALL DEPARTMENTAL AND UNIVERSITY REQUIREMENTS
Attention Summer 2010 Graduates:
There is no Summer commencement ceremony. Summer 2010 graduates have
the option of participating in either the Spring 2010 or Fall 2010 ceremony.
| Within Two Weeks of Application Deadline | Contact your academic advisor to submit
your graduation application and review your requirements for graduation. Note: Due to the large volume of applications submitted, graduation applications received by the Registrar's Office are processed approximately one month after the submission deadline. Once your application has been processed, you will receive a confirmation e-mail to your student e-mail account (undergraduate students may also see the Undergraduate Graduation Checklist in Argus). |
| April 2 | Final date for Registrar's Office
to receive any change of information to appear in the Spring/Summer
Commencement Program. Data is based on Graduation Application information.
Undergraduates may review their graduation checklist in the Personal
Records Access channel on the My Info tab in Argus.
Privacy holds may affect information listed in the program. |
| May 1 | Spring/Summer Commencement Ceremony
(details to be available at a later date). |
| August 6 | Last day of semester. All requirements for graduation must be completed by this date. |
| August 10 | Summer grades due to Registrar's Office for UWF courses. The Registrar's Office will begin awarding degrees approximately one week after grades are due. You may check your "Unofficial Transcript" in Argus (LightHouse if Argus is no longer active) to see if your degree has been posted. Once you have confirmed that your degree has been posted, you may order official transcripts at any time which will reflect this information. Note: The "Degrees Awarded" and "Rank in Class" links will be updated approximately eight weeks after graduation. |
| August 27 | Deadline for receipt of official test
scores, transcripts, and grade changes to meet graduation requirements*.
Please contact your major department
to verify receipt, posting, and evaluation by this deadline. |
| Approximately Six Weeks After Graduation | Diploma mailed to the diploma mailing
address submitted on your graduation application. All holds, including
Financial Aid Exit Interviews, must be cleared before diplomas are mailed. |
*Students for whom a degree has been awarded (i.e. posted to the academic transcript) may not have a degree changed for a course which was taken and completed prior to graduation.
Changes to the diploma mailing address are not made by simply changing your Current or Permanent address. This is an issue that must be addressed in writing to the Registrar's Office or by email to graduation@uwf.edu. Undergraduates may change their diploma mailing address through the "Undergraduate Graduation Checklist" in Argus.
Undergraduate Graduation Honors:
The GPA used to determine honors will be based upon all work attempted at UWF and previously attended institutions. However, the GPA used for honors will not be higher than the UWF GPA. A minimum of 40 semester hours of graded (A-WF) work must be completed at UWF. Please consult your University Catalog for further information. Honors indicated on the commencement program are tentative since current semester courses are not included.
Privacy Act:
Your name will not appear in the commencement program or in newspaper releases if you have completed the "Request to Prevent Disclosure of Directory Information." If you desire to revise this form, contact the Registrar's Office, in writing, before the cut-off date listed above.
