Retirement Plan for OPS Employees

Employees in OPS-classified positions (unless otherwise exempt from FICA) are automatically enrolled in a FICA Alternative Plan which serves as a Retirement Plan for OPS Employees. UWF deposits money into private retirement plans for these employees instead of Social Security.

Information for the FICA Alternative Plan

OPS employees will be automatically enrolled or unenrolled based on their eligibility for the plan, as it is mandatory that all who are eligible do participate. Participants contribute 7.5% of their wages into an investment account in their name. They do not contribute to Social Security for the pay periods in which they are enrolled in this plan, since membership in this FICA Alternative Plan takes the place of that participation. For more information about the Plan, which is administered by BENCOR, please refer to the following items.
