NextGen Provost Fellows Program
The NextGen Provost Fellows Program is designed to identify and develop emerging leaders within our institution who are interested in advancing into leadership positions within Academic Affairs. Participants will engage in a unique leadership development experience, working closely with senior administration on a high-priority project that will impact our academic community.
Activities in this program will guide participants to achieve the following:
- Enhance leadership skills
- Build relationships with others across campus
- Identify current issues in higher education
- Acquire knowledge from distinguished UWF leaders
- Develop leadership strategies as a leader and team member
- Collaborate on a specialized project that will make a positive impact on the university
This program is facilitated by Dr. Chris Wirth.
Current NextGen Provost Fellows
Eligibility
We invite applications from full-time faculty who are:
- Interested in advancing their leadership skills in areas such as academic innovation, student success, and strategic planning.
- Eager to collaborate across departments and contribute to institutional priorities.
Faculty who currently serve in leadership roles including department chair are not eligible.
Program Details
Applications are currently closed for 2025 - 2026. Applications for 2026 - 2027 will open in Summer 2026.
When: October 2025 - April 2026
Fellows will:
- Meet monthly at various locations to engage with leaders from all UWF units.
- Dedicate at least one hour per month to collaborate on a high-priority project.
- Receive a $500 stipend.
