Nursing Living Learning Community

The Nursing Living Learning Community (LLC) enhances the college experience and first year success by building a community of peers and connecting students with campus programs and resources. This community offers a welcoming environment for pre-nursing students as they transition to college life. Students will reside in Heritage Hall together and attend events and community service experiences together. Students accepted into the Nursing community will be selected from the applications received. Preference will be given to first-generation college students to aid in their transition and success. The LLC is a great way for incoming freshman to form bonds with other nursing students and benefit from community building, academic support, mentorship, and leadership opportunities. Students will take advantage of opportunities such as academic and social workshops throughout the year.

Living-learning communities (LLCs) are unique housing groups that allow students to extend their learning beyond the classroom. Living in the same housing allows the nursing students to have a close sense of support and comradery while developing leaders of character, responsible professionals, passionate leaders and value creators. The LLC is designed to aid students in gaining a better sense of their identity as a student and as a developing nurse. The in and out of class learning environments will offer heightened level of student engagement with faculty, peers and their own learning.
