The Main Lab will begin accepting Walk-in Paper Readings on Monday, January 13.
We will begin to schedule Paper Readings Appointments on Thursday, January 9.
The first Paper Reading Appointments will begin on Tuesday, January 21.
The last day for Paper Reading Appointments for the Main Lab and the two satellite labs will be Friday, April
Final Exams Week begins on Monday, April 28.
We do not read papers on the days they're due. For example, Adam Baum has a paper due August 16, and he wants a Lab assistant to read it on the 16th. We won't do it unless the paper is due at 11:59 p.m. that day.
To expedite the scheduling process when making Paper Reading Appointments, students will need the following:
the student's UWF Gmail address,
the professor's name,
the name of the class,
the due date of the paper,
and the style guide the paper should be following (MLA, APA, Chicago/Turabian, etc).
Please keep in mind you may lose your Paper Reading Appointment and earn a no-show if you are more than five minutes late to your appointment.
A "no-show" refers to
1) an appointment a student didn't show up for,
2) an appointment a student cancels within 24 hours prior to that appointment's taking place, or
3) an appointment a Lab Manager cancels because the student was more than five minutes late.
Please contact us either in person, by phone, or by e-mail if you need to cancel an appointment. If you happen to call outside of our normal business hours, please leave a message.
*Students who accumulate two no-shows in a semester will have their remaining paper reading appointments canceled; they will not be able to make an appointment for the remainder of the semester; and they will have to visit the Lab as walk-ins if they want the Lab assistants to help them with their papers.*
