UWF nursing graduates post top scores on national licensure exam
The University of West Florida School of Nursing topped the state and national averages for 2020 by wide margins, as 95.97% of its graduates passed the National Council Licensure Examination-Registered Nurses on their first attempt. UWF surpassed the national average for first-time pass rate by over five percentage points and exceeded the state mark by nearly 10 points.
UWF RN to BSN Program Ranked #7 in the U.S.
UWF School of Nursing's RN Progam made the 2021 Best Onlline RN to BSN Programs in the United States! Out of 518 analyzed programs, University of West Florida's RN to BSN program has been ranked in the top 15 at #7. Way to go Argo Nurses!!
Dr. Crystal Bennett is the new SON Director at UWF
Dr. Crystal Bennett is a Nursing alumna and has been working at UWF since 2004.
"I am grateful and excited to serve as the SON Director at UWF! As a UWF nursing alumna, it feels great to be able to give back to the university that helped to shape who I am today." - Dr. Crystal Bennett
Her SON goals include expanding academic practice partnerships within the community, creating scholarship opportunities for faculty and students, developing new programs to help meet workforce demands, and providing innovative high impact practice learning opportunities for the students.
She has a strong interest in designing research projects that utilize dancing to improve health, which is being represented in the picture.
Over the next few years, her hope is that we embrace the changes coming to nursing education, see it as an opportunity not a loss, and join together to accomplish great things with the students, the university, and the community.

Melissa Albright, BSN, RN is a MSN Nurse Educator student graduating next month. Melissa presented a Simulation Debriefing workshop for SON faculty. Her mentors during her nurse educator practicums have been Dr. Tina Ho and Dr. Jill Van Der Like.
