Financial Aid

Two students stand in graduation regalia in front of an academic building.

The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships helps students with grants, scholarships and loans available to help them complete their UWF degree program.

Start with the FAFSA

Three students gather at a table with a laptop visiting the UWF website.

Completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid is the first step toward comprehensive financial aid consideration. All eligible students are encouraged to complete the FAFSA each year they attend UWF, regardless of any anticipated Florida Bright Futures, prepaid plan, military benefits or other tuition coverage.

Completing the FAFSA and verification steps, if needed, allows students to be considered for:

  • Financial aid for educational expenses including and beyond tuition, such as supplies and transportation.
  • Tuition coverage through our Argo 30 Guarantee (Florida resident classification).
  • Scholarships that may require the FAFSA.

UWF's FAFSA code: 003955.

Complete the FAFSA

The FAFSA form you will need to complete will depend on the term(s) you attend UWF. For the strongest aid consideration, complete the FAFSA and any verification steps by your term priority date.

Did you Know?

  • Nearly 65% of UWF students utilize financial aid.
  • UWF awarded $125M+ in grants, scholarships and loans (2023-2024).

At UWF, we understand that student loans can be intimidating. That’s why we have partnered with Inceptia, a nonprofit organization, to provide you with free assistance on your student loan obligations to ensure you feel comfortable and can be successful in your loan repayment. Current students who haven’t started repaying their loans yet are welcome to use this free service to ask questions.

If in repayment, Inceptia may be calling to help you with next steps in your repayment journey. Their friendly counselors are there to help you every step of the way. If you become delinquent on your loans, they may contact you to help find a solution that works within your means.

The Inceptia counselors are there to help you with every step by staying in touch with you via phone calls, letters, and/or emails. They will not be collecting money from you. Inceptia’s nonprofit purpose is to help you find answers to your questions and solutions to your issues. We encourage you to visit Inceptia’s Student Knowledge HQ website at HeroKnowl.org.
