Important Information for Graduates
Students must have a graduation application on file with the Office of the Registrar in order to participate in the Commencement Ceremonies. Participation is not a guarantee of graduation.
Students' name will not be printed in the program if a privacy restriction is enabled on their MyUWF account.
Students should be applying for graduation during the term in which they will complete their degree requirements. UWF conducts Commencement ceremonies at the conclusion of the Spring and Fall terms only. However, Summer term graduates have the option to participate in either the Fall or Spring ceremony. Summer term graduates will have their name included in both term Commencement programs as 'Summer Degree Candidates'.
Students must wear appropriate regalia. Anyone without regalia will not be allowed to walk in the ceremony. While there is no formal dress code, students should dress appropriately. Shorts, jeans, and flip flops are not acceptable attire.
Once you have entered the Bay Center floor and been seated, you are expected to remain seated until the conclusion of the ceremony.
When available, information about ordering caps and gowns will be posted on the Herff Jones website.
Guest seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. There is a limited amount of seating for guests with special needs. Tickets for guests are not needed. There is no limit to the number of guests a student can invite to attend.
Adherence to the University's alcohol policy is expected.
University Commencement is a special event for all involved. Please show respect for everyone who has come to share in the experience. Individuals who engage in inappropriate or disruptive behavior may be removed from the event.

Due to changes in security at the Pensacola Bay Center, all attendees will be required to go through security screening with metal detectors. Please only bring essential items to graduation. Plan to arrive with enough time to go through Pensacola Bay Center Security
