What You'll Learn 

This workshop will provide a guided pathway for conducting sports performance analytics including the importance of establishing objectives, understanding foundational data concepts, temporal aspects of data, process and product data and validity and reliability of data. Methods and tools for collecting data will be explored followed by concepts that can be used to analyze data and present findings in formats that can drive data-driven decision making to inform competition strategic and tactical plans, make in-game decisions, evaluate team and individual performance, and make decisions for teams, players and organizations.

About the Instructor

Dr. John R. Todorovich, teaches physical education, sport coaching and physical activity courses. With long-term research interests focus on physical education and how achievement goal theory can be used to foster student motivation, his expertise in this area has allowed him to advise the Florida Department of Education on new physical education course requirements and the development of teaching strategies to improve physical education at various Florida county schools. Dr. Todorovich has published more than 60 journal articles, book chapters and technical reports on various aspects of physical and health education. In addition to his academic writing, he has presented at international and national meetings on topics relating to physical education. Before coming to UWF in 2005, he was an assistant professor at the University of Florida and University of Wyoming. He received a bachelor’s degree in health and human performance studies, master’s degree in human performance studies and doctorate in human performance pedagogy from the University of Alabama.
