Council on Aging of West Florida, Inc.

Council on Aging of West Florida dedicates each day to serve, support and advocate for aging adults in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties. Leveraging federal and state funds, as well as community partners, the agency provides in-home services that allow clients to remain safe and independent in their homes for as long as possible.

An internship with Council on Aging offers students opportunities to translate their educational knowledge into the workforce under the mentorship of Josh Newby, an experienced communications director and invaluable intern site coordinator who provides expert counsel in a friendly, encouraging environment. An intern role with this partner not only helps students gain experience in community outreach, marketing, and communications but also affords students with a chance to acclimate to the standards and expectations of professional office culture.

Partnering with us to work with our students is easy and our students are interested in sharing their skills in a wide range of areas. Click here for more information about becoming one of our valued Community Partners.

An internship with Ballinger Publishing offers students opportunities to translate their educational knowledge into the world of magazine publishing under the talented mentorship of Kelly Oden, executive editor, and the team of writers and editors at Ballinger. An intern role with this, our longest-running internship partner, helps students gain valuable experience in many aspects of magazine publishing from conducting interviews to writing articles, with the added benefit of strengthening their professional communication skills in a friendly, encouraging environment.
