SGA Elections occur each Spring, beginning in February.

Important Dates

  • Filing Open: February 9
  • Filing Closes: February 20
  • Election Forum: February 25, 5 p.m., University Commons Great Hall
  • Elections: March 2-4
  • Election Results Announced: March 4, 8:30 p.m., University Commons Great Hall

The Election Application Process

Meet with the Election Commission

The Election Commission is made up of the Supervisor of Elections and Election Commissioners. The Election Commission ensures there is a smooth and fair election season. All interested candidates who wish to run for a position in the 2026 Election must meet with one of the members of the Election Commission. 

Office Hours for SGA Election Commission Meetings 

When: February 9-13 and 16-20, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Where: Troy, Bldg 22. Room 259
How: Appointments are not required during drop-in hours (provided above). If you are unable to meet with the Election Commission during drop-in office hours, please email SGA Elections with your availability.

SGA's Senate is composed of student representatives elected by each academic college. The total number of available senate seats representing each college for the 2026-27 academic year is:

  • Hal Marcus College of Science and Engineering-6
  • College of Health-6
  • School of Education-4
  • College of Business-5
  • College of Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities-5
