Warpath Ultimate
Warpath Ultimate is a club at UWF for ultimate frisbee enthusiasts.
What is Ultimate?
Ultimate is the combination of the non-stop movement and athletic endurance of soccer with the aerial passing skills of football. The sport was created in 1968 and formed USAUltimate in 1979, which is the current governing body. Ultimate is played in more than 42 countries around the world by hundreds of thousands of men and women. Over the past few years, ultimate has continued to see an increased in popularity throughout the United States. With a 20% participation growth rate, ultimate has become one of the top 3 fastest growing team sports in America. Ultimate builds character, competition, and community while proving to be not only a sport but a lifestyle.
The Spirit of the Game (SOTG)
Ultimate is a self-officiating sport that relies upon the sportsmanship that places the responsibility for fair play on every player. We encourage competitive play, but never at the expense of mutual respect of players, the rules, or the enjoyment of playing Ultimate.
- Purpose: We seek to improve the welfare of Ultimate by enhancing and promoting character, community, and competition at the university by facilitating educational, athletic, and social experiences of its members through the Spirit of the Game (SOTG).
- Motto: Determination, Dedication, Discipline
We are also known as Argo Warpath. We embody the Spirit of the Game and the 3 D’s of Ultimate: determination, dedication, and discipline, as a player and as a team when we compete. We compete in the Southeast Conference in Division II at tournaments and play against schools around the country. We also, host tournaments and leagues and raise money for the American Cancer Society.
