Biography
Dr. Karen Evans is an instructor in the School of Education.
Evans, who has a Doctor of Ministry from Drew University, teaches online and blended courses in Social Studies Education and supervises interns and secondary practicum students.
Evans, an ordained deacon in the United Methodist Church, received a B.A. in Christian Education, Psychology and Sociology from Huntingdon College and a Master’s degree in Religious Education from Duke University. She is certified as a Specialist in Curriculum and Instruction by the University of Florida.
She joined UWF in 2011 after 24 years as Minister of Spiritual Formation at First United Methodist Church in Pensacola. Her responsibilities there included planning, organizing and implementing all educational experiences for children, youth and adults.
Degrees & Institutions
Evans received a bachelor's degree in in Christian Education, Psychology and Sociology from Huntingdon College and a Master’s degree in Religious Education from Duke University. She went on to earn her Doctor of Ministry from Drew University.
