Biography

Dr. Johnson is a board-certified family nurse practitioner with over 20 years of clinical experience. She has served in college health, women’s health, acute and primary care settings in addition to long term care facilities. She has taught in academia for over 15 years in both undergraduate and graduate programs. She now teaches in the online graduate MSN program at the University of West Florida.


She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from the University of North Alabama and her Master of Science in Nursing and Doctorate of Nursing Practice from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Her DNP project focused on a multidisciplinary approach for early screening and treatment for postpartum depression.
