Faculty and Staff Resources

The University of West Florida is dedicated to providing equal access to all students, as required by federal law. Faculty and staff play a vital role in creating accessible learning environments and ensuring students with disabilities have the accommodations they need to succeed.

We encourage you to review the resources below and contact Student Accessibility Resources whenever you need assistance.

Syllabus Statement

Faculty are required to include the official Student Accessibility Resources syllabus statement in all UWF course syllabi, per University Policy SA-09.04 (BOT Policies webpage). The statement helps students understand available support and how to connect with Student Accessibility Resources if they need accommodations.

The University of West Florida supports an inclusive learning environment for all students with disabilities. Prior to receiving academic accommodations, students must register with Student Accessibility Resources. Appropriate accommodations will be determined on an individual basis with careful consideration of course design, course learning objectives, individual documentation of disability, and the academic barriers experienced by the student. Accommodations may vary from one course to the next course and from one semester to the next semester. For information regarding the registration process, uwf.edu/sar, e-mail sar@uwf.edu or call 850.474.2387.
