The Bachelor of Arts in Music & an Outside Field is a new program tailor made for students wanting to pursue music alongside another field of study. Invest in your musical talent, while chasing your dreams through other programs such as pre-law, pre-health or arts administration. Earn multiple degrees in one four-year college experience.
Why Study Music & an Outside Field at UWF?
Are you interested in pursuing music as a career without sacrificing other professional interests? The music and an outside field program is designed for students who want to major in music while receiving a broad, liberal arts education. You will have the opportunity to earn a second bachelor's degree with experience in the liberal arts, humanities and sciences.
Our program features low student-teacher ratios and one-on-one instruction in applied studies that provide the personalized mentoring and guidance needed to achieve professional success. The Dr. Grier Williams School of Music was established in 2020 after receiving the largest cash gift in the history of the University of West Florida. Students in the school of music and members of the Argo Marching Band now benefit from an endowed scholarship fund in excess of $7 million. This transformative gift has created a new landscape of opportunity for our school, leading to unprecedented growth and innovation across our music curriculum.
