Ask Yourself These Questions
- Is the issue covered in the UWF Employee Code of Conduct policy? Review the UWF Code of Conduct to see if explicit advice is given
- Is action required? Would it be unethical not to act?
- Is it legal? Stop right now if the answer is "no."
- Does UWF have an applicable policy? Check existing University policies for guidance.
- Does it reflect the values and culture of the University? Would this decision come in conflict with any of our shared values?
- Have you considered the impact on UWF? Take time to consider the broader impact on UWF.
- Would you feel comfortable explaining your actions to friends and family? If you would be embarrassed to tell your family and friends, that is a strong indication against the behavior.
- Could I defend my actions if they appeared in the news? Would you feel confident debating your actions in the court of public opinion?
