HMCSE is dedicated to providing quality student learning experiences both in and out of the classroom. Student engagement has been proven to be directly related to student satisfaction and success.
HMCSE recognizes the value of faculty and student interaction in learning and hands-on experiences. The goal is to provide academic and professional development programming that promotes student success at UWF and beyond. To enhance learning and success, HMCSE endorses and supports the following student scholars programs:

UWF STEM Scholars
The UWF STEM Scholars Program is designed to support high academic achieving students desiring to pursue graduate degrees or work in STEM fields.

CHEM Scholars
The Chem Scholars Program was established in 2011 to recruit and retain high-achieving chemistry students and to increase the number of chemistry students pursuing PhD or MD-PhD degrees.

NIH U-RISE Scholars
The U-RISE Scholars Program is a grant-funded training program sponsored by the National Institute of General Medical Sciences and National Institutes of Health (NIGMS/NIH). It supports talented undergraduate students who plan to pursue a PhD or MD/PhD and a research career in physics, biological sciences, or chemical sciences.

EARTH Scholars
The Earth Scholars Program is designed to enhance student-learning experiences by increasing involvement in research and volunteer opportunities along with peer-to-peer mentoring with Earth and Environmental Sciences faculty and students.
