Dr. Christopher N. Varney, Department of Physics Chair and Associate Professor, has published more than a dozen scholarly articles on such topics as quantum magnetism, ultra-cold atomic gases, topological insulators, and quantum spin liquids.

Dr. Khagendra Bhattarai has received a Ph.D. degree in Applied Physics from the University of South Florida. He has more than 15 years of undergraduate teaching experience. His research interests include Optics, Photonics, and Metamaterials and he has co-authored nine peer-reviewed journal articles.

Dr. Chandra Prayaga, who has 35-plus years teaching experience, has helped raise more than $3 million in funding for research and projects involving UWF faculty and students.

Dr. Laszlo Ujj earned a Ph.D. in Physics at the University of Szeged, Hungary. He has over 25 years of college teaching experience with some at the graduate level. Before joining UWF in 2001, he worked as a research scientist at the University of Arizona for nine years.

Dr. Aaron Wade received a Ph.D. in Physics from Florida State University, where he wrote his dissertation on “Quantum Cascade Lasers in High Magnetic Fields.”
