Dr. Achraf Cohen


Dr. Achraf Cohen is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. He joined The University of West Florida (UWF) in 2016 as a Postdoctoral Teaching Associate where he taught Nonparametric Statistics, Multivariate Methods, and Time Series Analysis as well as collaborated with faculty members to develop research grant projects. Dr. Cohen has a Ph.D. in Statistics-Applied Mathematics from the University of Angers (France).

His research concerns statistical process monitoring, data-driven methods, quality control, and wavelets analysis. He has shown that using wavelets coefficients in order to design new statistics for control charts can be an additional and efficient tool for process monitoring. He published many articles in peer-reviewed journals and a chapter book on applied statistics, control charts, process capability, mass spectrometry data classification. In addition, he presented his work at academic conferences in France, Republic Czech, and the USA.
