Just as physical exercise strengthens the heart and other organs, mental exercise protects and keeps your brain young. Leisure Learning offers you the opportunity to energize your mind, make new friends and become part of a growing and vibrant community of lifelong learners.

Your $40 annual Leisure Learning membership allows you to register for spring, summer and fall courses, but did you know it also comes with a myriad of additional perks? Here are tips to maximizing your membership benefits and making your membership work for you!

Top Ways to Maximize Your Membership

Plan Your Schedule and Register for Courses Early

By planning your semester schedule in advance and registering for courses early, you ensure your spot in our most popular courses. Registering for courses is easy and can be done online, by mail or by phone.

Follow Leisure Learning on Facebook

Stay connected to Leisure Learning and other members as well as keep up-to-date on new courses, catalog announcements and events. Follow us at Facebook.com/UWFLeisureLearning and be a part of our online community!

Invite a Friend

Share your love of Leisure Learning! Members are encouraged to bring a new friend to a class as an introduction to the program. The class price will apply. If your friend joins Leisure Learning, you AND your friend will receive a credit voucher for a future Leisure Learning class or event. *Limited to those who have never attended Leisure Learning courses before.

Teach a Leisure Learning Class

What are you most passionate about? Consider sharing your expertise, talent or hobby for a Leisure Learning course! No previous teaching experience is required—just a strong desire to share with your peers.

Get Involved

Have an idea for a class? Get involved by working with others to brainstorm class ideas, identify volunteer instructors and plan the course schedule. The Curriculum Committee meets 3-4 times each semester to establish the next semester's schedule.

Obtain a UWF Nautilus Card

Members of Leisure Learning are eligible to purchase a UWF Nautilus card for only $10. This official UWF identification card can be used for access to many campus facilities. Call the Student Support Office to request proof of your membership and additional instructions for obtaining your card.

Utilize Library Computers, Databases and Check-Out Materials

The on-campus John C. Pace Library has over 100 desktop computers. All workstations provide internet access and many pre-loaded applications, such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint and digital image editors. Use your Nautilus Card to check out books and DVDs from the Circulation Desk on the 1st floor.

Attend Events at the UWF Center for Fine and Performing Arts

The UWF Center for Fine and Performing Arts plays host to various on-campus and community arts organizations, with performances in Music, Dance, Theatre and Opera. With a UWF Nautilus Card, Leisure Learning members receive $5 admission fees to CFPA events.
