History students have the opportunity to join Phi Alpha Theta, the National History Honor Society, and any student can join History Club!
Phi Alpha Theta
Phi Alpha Theta is a professional honor society whose mission is to promote the study of history through the encouragement of research, good teaching, publication and the exchange of learning and ideas among historians.
To join the society, undergraduate students must complete at least 12 semester hours in history (four courses) with a grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.1 in history, have a GPA of 3.0 or better overall, and be in the top 35 percent of their class. Membership is not limited to history majors. Graduate students should have completed a minimum of 12 semester hours towards their Master’s Degree in History, have a GPA of better than 3.5, and shall have completed approximately 30% of the residence requirements for the Master’s Degree.
Faculty members above the rank of instructor are also welcome to the join Phi Alpha Theta.

History Club
The UWF History Club provides students with an optional opportunity to express their passion for the craft. No coursework, grades, or fees are required for membership.
Each year the club actively tries to expand its range, offering a variety of events to engage with the University's community. Previous events include Guest Lectures, Trivia Nights, socials, and much more.
