Virtual Option
The first-year virtual orientation experience is an online alternative to the in-person orientation session.
Spring 2022
The virtual orientation session is designed to meet the minimum requirements of mandatory orientation for students who have been granted an exception to the in-person orientation requirement. Students who are over 21 years old, married, active duty military, veterans, or in a fully online degree program may qualify for an immediate-access virtual orientation experience. Please email orientation@uwf.edu for more information.
Summer/Fall 2022
Beginning in Summer 2022, all first-year students will have the option to select a virtual orientation experience to fulfill their orientation requirement. More information on this expansion of virtual orientation will be provided in the spring.
Completing Virtual Orientation
If you are granted an exception to the Spring 2022 in-person orientation requirement, you must complete the virtual orientation experience. The cost is $60, which includes the cost of your Nautilus Card student ID.
You must register for your virtual orientation session, upgrade your Argonaut account, and accept the emailed invitation to your orientation course.
- Approximately 1-2 hours after registering for orientation, you will be able to upgrade your Argonet account. This is required before you can access Canvas, UWF's online learning platform, where you will complete the course. Upgrading simply expands your MyUWF account to that of a full student and creates your official UWF student email address.
- Approximately 24 hours after you upgrade, you will receive a message to your new student email account inviting you to join the virtual orientation course, which you can then complete in Canvas. You can also access this in MyUWF by searching “Canvas.”
