Student Organization Council (SOC)

The UWF Student Organization Council (SOC) is a governing body at the University of West Florida dedicated to supporting and overseeing registered student organizations (RSOs).

About SOC

SOC aims to foster a vibrant campus community by providing resources, guidance, and community-building opportunities to RSOs. Through collaborative initiatives, leadership development programs, and event planning support, SOC enhances student engagement and promotes an open and dynamic campus environment.

Ways to Engage with SOC

SubCouncil Ambassadors

Apply to be a SubCouncil Ambassador* for an opportunity to grow and lead! SOC has categorized all of our 130+ student organizations into compatible subcouncils, allowing students to network and engage with others interested in similar areas of involvement.

  • To help manage individual subcouncils and make connections with others, SOC is implementing a SubCouncil Ambassador program. If you are a current member of an organization and would like to represent not only your own organization but your entire sub-council community, this is for you.
  • As an ambassador, you will have the opportunity to represent student organizations, collaborate on exciting projects, and make a lasting impact on our campus community. Gain valuable experience, build meaningful connections, and help shape the future of student engagement at UWF.

*Applications for the new SOC Ambassador program open on September 30, 8 a.m. via Argo Pulse

SOC Newsletter: The PULSE
  • Receive the PULSE, a weekly newsletter facilitated by SOC through Argo Pulse. All active officers and members of student organizations will receive The PULSE via email. The PULSE highlights upcoming events, important deadlines, and various reminders and shoutouts regarding involvement. Keep an eye out for these in your inbox, or visit Argo Pulse and visit your inbox to view every edition of The Pulse you’ve received.
Council Meetings
  • Attend the SOC council meetings and get an insider's look at involvement at UWF! These meetings are a great opportunity to learn about exciting events, network with student leaders, and discover ways to get involved in the UWF community. Whether you're part of an RSO or not, your voice and ideas are valuable. Join us and see how you can contribute to making our campus vibrant and inclusive!
