International Orientation
International Orientation is your introduction to the UWF campus community.
Arriving in Pensacola
Pensacola is served by the Pensacola International Airport (PNS). You should plan to arrive at PNS as your final destination. PNS is served by connecting flights from several major Port-of-Entry airports around the U.S.
After arriving to the Pensacola International Airport, most students take a taxicab to UWF. The fare ranges from $25-35 US dollars. Your first stop can be Housing and Residence Life or the International Center.
Temporary Accommodation
If your flight arrives in Pensacola late or you arrive before your housing is ready, you will need to find temporary accommodation. The following hotels are within 5-10 minutes drive from campus with a UWF Room Rate. Use the links below to book with the UWF Room Rate.

International Orientation
International Orientation is required for all new students. We review immigration regulations, introduce you to people across the campus, and give you a tour of UWF. It is a chance to make new friends and be welcomed to your new university home. During orientation you will receive your Nautilus card (student ID), have the opportunity to learn more about purchasing a cell phone and opening a bank account, schedule a time to complete your required International Programs check-in, and receive a campus tour. You will be assigned to a small group led by one of our Student Orientation Assistants (SOA). This will allow for you to make connections with other students, receive personalized answers to your questions, and to get the most out of your orientation.
Meet UWF Global Quarter
At International Orientation, you will meet students from UWF Global Quarter and get a Global Quarter shirt. UWF Global Quarter is our community of UWF students who are focused on global citizenship. Throughout the year Global Quarter hosts events to promote cultural understanding and interests that move students, domestic and abroad, to “engage the world”. In the past Global Quarter has hosted International Education Week, International Music Night, welcome events for new students, guest speakers, and more. Global Quarter hosts a weekly Global Conversations, which provides cross-cultural communication in a small-group format. If you are looking for a globally-minded community, this is a great one!
If you would like to learn more about Global Quarter, please contact international@uwf.edu or find us on Facebook and Instagram.
