Meet UWF's Exchange Scholar

Yen-Shan is also on a mission to introduce Taiwan to a broader audience and promote the Huayu Best scholarship program, which provides UWF students with the opportunity to immerse themselves in the vibrant world of Mandarin Chinese in Taiwan.
 
With a passion for intercultural competency, Yen-Shan strives to enhance her students' learning experiences by organizing various events, including culturally enriching movie nights and enjoyable language exchange activities.

Study Chinese in Taiwan with the Huayu BEST Program at Tamkang University

Founded in 1950, Tamkang University is widely recognized as the top private university in Taiwan, known for its academic excellence and vibrant international community. One of its standout features is the Chinese Language Center, established in 1991, which offers high-quality language instruction to learners from around the globe.

The Chinese Language Center provides intensive, interactive Chinese language programs in a supportive and immersive environment. Students benefit from small class sizes, experienced instructors, and engaging teaching methods focusing on speaking, listening, reading and writing. The program emphasizes cultural exchange, encouraging international students to engage with local Taiwanese peers to deepen their understanding of the Chinese language, culture and society.

UWF students selected for the Fall 2025 and beyond Huayu BEST Program at Tamkang University will receive a generous monthly scholarship of NTD $28,000 (approximately USD 930) to support their living expenses while studying abroad.
