Move-in

Prepare for move-in

1. Verify that your Immunizations are complete by checking the MyUWF Immunization Status App
2. Register for New Student Orientation, if applicable, and if you haven't already
3. Review the Housing Prohibited Items List (PDF) to ensure you do not bring anything that is not allowed in the residence halls or apartments 
4. Look up your room assignment and roommates in MyUWF by searching for Housing Contracts > Housing Contracts and Services > Room Assignments and Roommates
5. Contact your roommate and decide what to bring for your room, suite or apartment
6. Plan your room decor and review our ‌ What to Bring List (PDF)
7. Review our calendar and take note of important dates
8. Make a list of special items to bring for move-in, such as a dolly/hand truck, tarps, etc.
9. Sign up for a move-in time slot via MyUWF > Housing Contracts and Services

Move-in day:

If you have followed the prepare for move-in steps above, then you will have already signed up for a move-in time slot. If you have not done so yet, please complete that step via MyUWF > Housing Contracts and Services. 

• Once you’re on campus for your move-in day, please check-in at the entrance or clubhouse of your assigned building during your time slot.
• Move-in time slots are one-hour-long. Once you have checked in, you’ll have time beyond that to complete your actual move-in. 
• Once you are checked in and have your key, you may occupy your room. 

Move-in days are especially exciting and busy. To ensure everyone can get their things moved to their spaces quickly, please: 

• Move vehicles to designated parking areas once items are unloaded.
• Be aware of heavy traffic areas and do not congregate in lobbies or stairwells. 
• Note that unloading assistance will not be available. You are encouraged to bring your own move-in supplies such as carts, dollies or hand trucks if possible. A limited number of carts will be available for 30-minute check-out using your UWF ID at the building front desk.
• Elevators are available but may have a wait.

If you are arriving early:

Please complete the Early Arrival Form. Reasons students may arrive early include if they are with a UWF organization, program, athletic team, or are employed on-campus.

Please note that early arrival dates for most groups have been determined by the group, department or coach. Requests outside that date may be denied. Do not sign up for move-in day.

If you are arriving after the official move-in dates:

Please complete the Late Arrival Form to let us know you’re still coming.
