Biography
Melissa’s journey to the UWF Counseling and Psychological Services department was in no way conventional or direct. Her passion for helping people has been the thread tying all the experiences together. Returning to college as a non-traditional student led her to a B.S. in Behavioral Sciences and an expedition into public education with a special education focus. The experience was extremely valuable, but not the career destination. Melissa gained additional beneficial experience in her one-and-a-half-year assignment in a public health agency. The desire to help people discover their unique strengths and abilities and share tools to help them build a life they love has found a home in college mental health. She earned her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Midwestern State University and is delighted to be a part of the UWF team. Go Argos!
