Biography
Lauralee is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Licensed Professional Counselor with more than 20 years of experience in healthcare, mental health treatment, and clinical leadership. Born in the Philippines and raised in New York, she brings a culturally informed perspective to her work and values understanding each patient’s unique background and life experience. She later relocated to Alabama, where she has continued her work serving diverse communities across the Gulf Coast.
Laura has worked with a wide range of populations, including children, adolescents, adults and veterans. She previously practiced at AltaPointe in Mobile, Alabama, and with the Veterans Administration in Mississippi, providing psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, medication management and supportive psychotherapy. She also worked in private practice with a focus on trauma treatment and is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Earlier in her career, Laura gained valuable nursing experience in surgical and critical care settings, which provided a strong clinical foundation in patient safety, interdisciplinary collaboration and high-acuity patient care. This background allows her to integrate both therapeutic insight and medical expertise in her work as a psychiatric provider.
Laura is passionate about helping individuals improve their mental health and overall quality of life through compassionate, evidence-based care. She has a particular interest in supporting university students and young adults as they navigate the academic, social and emotional challenges of this important stage of life.
